Bold new ڰ license plate makes its debut
April 9, 2007
A bold new ڰ Bengals logo appears on the redesigned Idaho motor-vehicle collegiate license plate for the university.
An ڰ text logo replaces the familiar Bengal tiger’s face, which was indistinct from a distance. The plate provides alumni, employees and ڰ supporters alike the opportunity to broadcast their pride in and support of ڰ.
Income from the collegiate plates also will help ڰ fund scholarship aid for ڰ students.
“Personalized plates provide a sense of unique identity for individuals while showing off our proud place in the ڰ community,” says Alumni Relations Director Bill Kobus, who spearheaded the launch of the new design. “By purchasing the new ڰ collegiate license plate you will not only be showing pride for the university, but will be contributing to scholarship funds to help our students.”
A numbered ڰ collegiate plate costs $35 above the normal cost of license plates. A personalized plate costs $60 more.
The first year of registration with each new ڰ collegiate plate will provide $25 for ڰ scholarships. Each license renewal will generate $15.
Numbered plates can be obtained at DMV offices in Ada, Bannock and Bonneville counties. Other county DMV offices can order the plates from the Idaho Department of Transportation. Personalized plates can be ordered online at www.itd.idaho.gov/dmv.
