The 窪做惇蹋厙 Womens Choir and Chamber Choir will join the Womens Choir from Hillcrest High School for a choral concert on Friday, Feb. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.

General admission is $5, $3 for 窪做惇蹋厙 faculty and staff, and free to 窪做惇蹋厙 students with ID.

The 窪做惇蹋厙 Womens Choir will perform Cantique de Jean Racine by Gabriel Faure; Let Us Imitate Her Notes from George Frideric Handels 1736 Alexanders Feast; and See the Gypsies by Zoltan Kodaly (1882-1967). The Womens Choir will be led by founder and director Kathleen A. Lane, with accompaniment by Carol Hotrum.

Dr. Scott Anderson will lead the 窪做惇蹋厙 Chamber Choir in works to be featured on their upcoming concert tour to Peru, May 20-31:  O sacrum convivium by Tomas Luis de Victoria; Sanctus in D Major by J. S. Bach; Kyrie from Maurice Durufles Requiem; and Moses Hogans energetic arrangement of the spiritual Ride on, King Jesus. The Chamber Choir will also present the unique Bach (Again)" composed by Edwin London, which is Londons contemporary re-envisioning of J. S. Bach's revered chorale setting Komm s羹sser Tod.

The evenings guest ensemble will be the Advanced Womens Choir of Hillcrest High School, Idaho Falls, under the baton of Camille Blackburn. Blackburn has worked so closely with the 窪做惇蹋厙 Department of Music that it just seemed high time to feature her choir, according to Prof. Lane.

Ive worked with Camille for the past 15 years, Lane said. Her program has produced some of our outstanding students, both music educators and soloists.

For years, shes been the accompanist for our 窪做惇蹋厙 Choral Invitational in the fall and the 窪做惇蹋厙 Womens Choir Festival in the spring, Lane added. Shes made herself indispensible.

Hillcrests program includes "We Sing, We Dance!" by Ruth Elaine Schram; "Summer's Farewell," by Frank K. DeWald; and "Sunrise" from Four Sacred Songs for the Night by Houston Bright. Accompanists will be Cellist Mark Anderson and pianist Candace Cramer.
