ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø College of Technology SkillsUSA members recently attended the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Kansas City, Mo., where they received top honors in their respective competitions.

The four students who represented ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø and the awards they received were:

        • Ryder Carson – Gold, Computerized Numeric Control Milling

        • Greg Anderson – Gold, Automotive Refinishing

        • Renell Anderson – Sixth, Prepared Speech

        • Todd Thomas – Fourth, Aviation Maintenance

The students were accompanied by SkillsUSA advisors, Don Beamis and Bill Gibbs.

Students from throughout the state took home a total of five medals, two of those were earned by ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø students.This is the second year that an ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø computerized machining technology student has received a gold medal in his or her respected competition.

SkillsUSA is a national organization providing quality educational experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development, to more than 264,000 high school and college students and professional members, enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations. Representatives of business, industry, labor, and education judged contests in 77 skill and leadership development areas.  

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø will be the host site for the state SkillsUSA competition planned for Oct. 17.
