ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Rodeo Team opens season Sept. 10-11; Rocky Mountain Regional Sept. 17-19 in Pocatello

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Rodeo Team members are headed to the first National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) sanctioned college rodeo of the season this weekend. They will represent ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø during the Southern Utah University rodeo, Friday, Sept. 10, and Saturday, Sept. 11.

This rodeo is one of four NIRA rodeos that ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø team members will compete at this fall.

Team members who will be competing this weekend include:  Montana Barlow (Jerome, ID);  Kallie Duffin (Shelley, ID); Maddy Durfey (Cardston, Alberta Canada);  Cy Eames (Gooding, ID); Georgina Gallegos (Blackfoot, ID); Chelsi Horton (Kuna, ID), Jessea Kack (Twin Falls, ID); Brianna Overdorf (Chubbuck, ID); Kim Sanford (Rigby, ID); Heather Sayler (Arimo, ID); Cami Schei (Chubbuck, ID);<> Hannah Shainholtz (Blackfoot, ID); Heidi Small (Dubois, ID); Trevor Townsend (Rexburg, ID); Kyle VanBiezen (Twin Falls, ID); and KJ Weissenbuehler (Emmett, ID). Advisor/head coach, Angela Askey, and Assistant Coach, Ali Shiozawa will accompany the team to Cedar City, UT.

In addition, the team is preparing for the Rocky Mountain Regional and ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Bengal Round-up Rodeo they will host Sept. 17-19 at the Bannock County Fairgrounds in Pocatello. Catch exciting college rodeo action and watch ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø students compete against other college rodeo athletes in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Performances for the Rocky Mountain Regional will begin Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Tickets for the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Rodeo are on sale and may be purchased from rodeo team members or by calling 282-3216. Ticket prices are $5 for general admission, children six and under are free, $10 for a full weekend pass, and ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø staff, faculty and students are free with their Bengal ID.
