March 1, 2021

Public Safety is pleased to announce that Jessy Sears will be joining the department as the new Emergency Manager. Sears comes to ڰ from the Southeastern Idaho Public Health District where she worked for three years as an All-Hazards Planner. Prior to SIPH, Sears spent seven years at the Department of Homeland Security. She is a 2018 graduate of FEMA’s National Emergency Management Basic Academy, and she has a Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Grantham University.
“What impressed me the most about Jessy is her energy, enthusiasm, and positive can-do attitude. Jessy is well connected to emergency managers at the county, regional, and national levels, which is a monumental asset. I feel she will fit well into our campus community,” said Lewis Eakins, Chief Security Officer.
