Call for proposals: Cultural Events Committee

August 21, 2023

The Cultural Events Committee invites all ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø faculty members to submit a funding application for cultural events that serve any ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø community

An ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø faculty member is any person who holds faculty status at the time of the submission. An ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø community includes any of the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø campuses, surrounding communities, or an online event that is accessible to campus(es) and surrounding communities.

The committee understands “cultural event” to mean any event that celebrates human creativity or human experience, with particular attention to human diversity and its relevance,  from the perspectives of the arts, the humanities, or those aspects of the social sciences, the sciences, and technology which have artistic or humanistic content and employ artistic or humanistic methods.

The committee has two grant programs that are used to help sponsor appropriate events.

Mini-grants are for funds up to $1000, and large grants are for $1000 and above. The committee has a total of $11,000 to distribute for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

If you are planning a cultural event to take place in the new fiscal year (July 1, 2023 – June  30, 2024), submit your application form via the CEC website by Friday, September 15, 2023. For additional information, see the call for proposals on the CEC website. You may also contact Susan Goslee, the committee chair, with any questions.
