ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø and ARS researchers improve method to measure soil carbon at National Science Foundation Reynolds Creek Critical Zone Observatory in Southwest Idaho

POCATELLO – There is two to three times as much carbon in the Earth’s soil than in its atmosphere, which has important implications with regard to the effects of climate change, and scientists working at the National Science Foundation’s Reynolds Creek Critical Zone Observatory in southwest Idaho have developed a better method for estimating soil carbon.

POCATELLO – Three ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø faculty will be honored as Distinguished Faculty at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Commencement on May 4 in the Holt Arena. The recipients are Distinguished Teacher Marco Schoen, Distinguished Service Cindy Seiger and Distinguished Researcher Kathleen Lohse.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø physics to host particle physics workshop to train secondary education teachers

POCATELLO – Secondary education teachers from throughout the western United States will gather at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø June 17-20 to learn about particle physics so they can better teach the fundamentals of science to their students.

POCATELLO – ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Mustafa Mashal was awarded the Southern Idaho Section Engineer of the Year award at the 2019 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Awards Banquet on March 19. 

 Idaho State physics to host Science Olympiad

POCATELLO – The ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Department of Physics will host a regional Science Olympiad on Saturday, March 30, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 pm in the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Physical Science Building on the corner of Eighth Avenue and Carter Street on the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø campus.
