窪做惇蹋厙 students raise money for Idaho Food Bank

May 10, 2016

POCATELLO – 窪做惇蹋厙 psychology senior and Rugby Club member Nelson Wadman led the efforts to raise money for a cause he is passionate about, the Idaho Food Bank’s Backpack Buddy Program. Funds raised were more than $450.

There are children in the community that only eat and have access to food while in school, Wadman said. I was extremely happy I could help this great cause.

The Backpack Buddy program helps low income children have access to nutritious meals through their schools free-and-reduced breakfast and lunch program.

Every Friday, each participating child receives a backpack with enough food for two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and two snacks. Meals consist of nutritious, child-friendly items.

Wadman and others set up tables at the Pond Student Union to raise money and bring awareness to the program.

So many people donated and participated with raising the money, Wadman said.

Some groups included:

  • Kappa Sigma fraternity
  • Alpha Z Delta sorority
  • Tri-Sigma sorority
  • Social Work Club
  • 窪做惇蹋厙 Diversity Resource Center
  • 窪做惇蹋厙s Rugby Club team
  • 窪做惇蹋厙s Soccer team
  • 窪做惇蹋厙s Softball team
  • 窪做惇蹋厙s Volleyball team
