POCATELLO – The Idaho State Board of Education unanimously approved the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø College of Business’s proposal to begin offering a Master of Taxation (MTax) degree beginning in the Fall 2017 semester.

POCATELLO – ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Department of Theatre and Dance and the School of Performing Arts will welcome actress Minita Gandhi on March 10 at 7:30 p.m. to perform her one-woman show “Muthaland” in the Beverly B. Bistline Theatre in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.

POCATELLO – Body image activist Amy Pence Brown will be the keynote speaker for ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Positive Body Image Week on March 13 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Rendezvous Complex Suites A, B and C.

Chamber music theatre celebrating African American women set March 4 at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø

POCATELLO – The Core Ensemble will perform the chamber music theatre work “Ain’t I a Woman!” at 7 p.m. March 4 in the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Pond Student Union Ballroom.

Free flu shots and basic physical exams offered at ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø/Ada County health screening March 9

Basic physical and dental exams, flu shots while supplies last, and onsite testing for blood sugar levels and cholesterol are included in free services offered at a community health screening Thursday, March 9, 4-7 p.m., at the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø-Meridian Health Science Center, 1311 E. Central Drive, in Meridian.

Idaho State-Civic Symphony to host POPS Concert and Annual Raffle on March 11

POCATELLO —The Idaho State-Civic Symphony will host its annual POPS concert and fundraiser on March 11 in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall of the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.

POCATELLO – The first ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Positive Body Image Symposium will be held March 14 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and March 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Rendezvous Complex Suites A, B and C.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Humanities Café to be held March 16

POCATELLO – ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s College of Arts and Letters will hold the final Humanities Café of the year surrounding Arabic jazz and embracing diversity on March 16 at 6 p.m. at the Westside Players located at 1009 S. Second Ave. in Pocatello.

POCATELLO – The Gentlemen Trio, better known as GENTRI, will perform at the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Stephens Performing Arts Center on March 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Fiction writer Shawn Vestal to visit ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø for reading and workshop

POCATELLO – ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Department of English and Philosophy will host Visiting Writer Shawn Vestal on Thursday, March 8, for a reading at 6:30 p.m. and a workshop for high school students at 4:30 p.m.

POCATELLO – ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø “Season of Note” will present “An Evening with Garrison Keillor” on April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Stephens Performing Arts Center’s Jensen Grand Concert Hall.

Idaho Humanities Council to honor ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø's Susan Swetnam for Outstanding Achievement in the Humanities

The Idaho Humanities Council will honor ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Professor Emeritus Susan Swetnam with IHC’s Award for “Outstanding Achievement in the Humanities” at a wine/dessert reception and award ceremony on Wednesday, March 29, 7 p.m., in ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center, Marshall Rotunda.

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Professor Terry Ownby accepted into Atomic Photographers Guild

POCATELLO – Terry Ownby, ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø associate professor of photo media, was recently accepted into the Atomic Photographers Guild (APG), an international collective of more than 30 artists dedicated to making visible all facets of the nuclear age.
