Double Cone and Incline
Brief Description
This demonstration involves a double cone rolling “up” a ramp. The ramp is made so that it is wider at the top than at the bottom, so that when the double cone is at the bottom, its center of mass is actually higher than when it’s at the top.
Materials
Double Cone and incline ramp. Note: the orange double cone and wooden incline work the best together
Performing the Demo
Place the double cone on the narrow section of the ramp and let it roll. Make sure the ramp is on a level surface. The cone might need a slight push.
