Nail Balance
Brief Description
In this demo, 16 nails are balanced on the head of one. This is a good demonstration to introduce rigid bodies in equilibrium.
Materials
Nail Block and 16 Nails
Performing the Demo
To balance the nails, start by laying down one nail and interlacing 14 nails on top of it as shown in the picture. Then place one more nail on top of all of those. You can then lift them all up by grabbing the nail on the bottom and placing it on the nail in the block.
