Stacks of books on a table

Annual Book Drive

Over the last six years, we have helped local elementary schools add over 3,600 books to their collection.

We select various books, authors, illustrators, and subjects through multiple sources to add to our wish list. Donors who shop locally, through independent bookstores, or through our wish list link help make a bigger difference in our community. The book drive kicks off with the fall semester and runs through the end of October, allowing deliveries to local schools in early November.

2026 7th Annual Book Drive

The Graduate School's 7th Annual Book Drive is here! Every fall, for the past six years, the Graduate School has hosted a K-4 book drive with the mission of collecting 1,000 books to donate to local elementary school libraries. The Graduate School selects various books, authors, illustrators, and subjects through multiple sources to add to a wishlist that anyone can donate to. The intent is to donate books that will expand the range of experiences for young readers, allow them to find themselves in a book — as a character, illustration, or plot line — and fall in love with reading.

You can donate in several ways. The Graduate School has partnered with Hares & Hatters Bookshop in Historic Downtown Pocatello as a resource to purchase books for the drive and to support a local business. There is an online wishlist through Hares & Hatters, or books can be purchased in person and dropped in a donation box at the store. Donations can also be made through the Graduate School's Amazon wishlist, which sends books directly to our office. In-person donations are also welcome in the ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Museum Building, Suite 401.

At the end of the Book Drive, the Graduate School collects all the books and hand-delivers the donations to local elementary schools.
